Questions

Do I pay duty or customs fees?

No. Duty is cleared before your wheels ship, so there is nothing to settle when they arrive. Prices are in Canadian dollars and the price you see is the price you pay.

How long does delivery take?

Wheels held in Montréal reach most of Canada in 5 to 8 days at no charge. Wheels ordered in from the factory take about 4 to 6 weeks, also at no charge. Where a faster service is available, it is offered at checkout.

Will these wheels fit my bike?

They fit a disc-brake road or gravel bike with 12 mm thru axles — 12 × 100 mm at the front and 12 × 142 mm at the rear, which is what almost every disc road bike built since about 2018 uses. The rotors mount Center Lock. Rims are 24 mm internal and 31.5 mm external, so they suit 28 mm tyres and up.

There is no rim-brake version, and no quick-release version on the shelf. If you are not sure what your frame takes, send us the model and year and we will tell you.

What is the difference between the C, S and EVO wheels?

C wheels run steel spokes and carry no weight limit, which is why they take gravel. S wheels run carbon spokes and weigh less, with no weight limit either. The EVO version of either series upgrades the bearings and sheds more weight, but is rated to 120 kg.

Should I choose 45, 50 or 58 mm?

50 mm is the one most riders should buy. It is quick on the flat, still calm in a crosswind, and it is the depth that suits a rider who does a bit of everything.

Go to 45 mm if your roads climb, if you are light, or if you ride somewhere genuinely windy — it is the lightest of the three and the least affected by a gust. Go to 58 mm for flat, fast riding and time trials, where the extra depth is worth the extra weight and the extra handful in a side wind.

Steel bearings or CeramicSpeed?

Steel is the right choice for most riders. The CeramicSpeed option on the EVO wheels saves about 20 g and rolls with slightly less friction, for roughly $250 more.

It is worth it if you race and count every watt. If you ride for pleasure, put the money into tyres — they will change how the bike feels far more than the bearings will.

Which freehub do I need?

Shimano 11- and 12-speed drivetrains use the HG freehub. SRAM 12-speed uses XDR. Choose it on the product page before adding to cart, and if you are not certain which your bike takes, ask us — in English or French.

Are these genuine, and who do I deal with if something goes wrong?

Yes, and you deal with us. We are the Canadian supplier, not a drop-shipper: before we listed a single wheel we went to the Farsports headquarters and walked the production line. Every brand we add goes through the same visit before it appears here.

A warranty claim comes to RC Vélo in English or French. We handle the manufacturer, you do not.

What warranty comes with a wheelset?

For three months from delivery, anything that fails on its own — not from a crash or misuse — is replaced free. You do not deal with the manufacturer: send us the photographs and we take the claim up on your behalf. The full terms are on our warranty page.

Do you have a shop I can visit?

Not yet. RC Vélo is three riders in Montréal and the wheels ship from there — there is no counter to walk up to.

What you can have is a conversation before you buy. Tell us the bike, the roads and what you are trying to fix, and we will tell you which wheel to get and, just as often, which one not to.
